TASK 3
Game Show / Cash Grab Pitch
This was the first main big task that we had to do in our groups for this project, and it was to present our pitch idea for the game show that we were going to do. We had to assign job roles which you can see throughout the slideshow, and we all did our own research on each of our topics. These slides were the physical slides that we all individually read from when we pitched our idea.
Game Show Test Run
This was the first day we were back in college since we were put into lockdown again since mid December. During the week before through online calls, we (our whole class) had to organise rolls and jobs to each person so we could make a Game Show with all the equipment in the Studio, to then leave with a whole short Game Show episode like you would see on TV. No one in our class including me had ever used any of the equipment before so after 3 hours of trying new things for the first time as well as a lot of re runs, we finally finished on a final recording of the Game Show.
My job was a vision mixer. The vision mixer role consists of my choosing the different camera angles at the right time to be showcased on TV. I would have a headset on talking to the people operating the cameras as well as sitting with the production manager of the show. To make sure that I was switching to the right shots at the right time, i would have a script in front of me knowing what's coming up and who to look at during certain points of the show, as well as when to know when to put the intro, outro and adverts on.
The whole video is too big to put on this website, so below is a link to YouTube where you can watch the whole game show there.

Cash Grab Rehearsals
We did this on the second week back. By this point, we had chosen who was in our groups and what everyone's own roles were. My group included me, Sam, Freddie, Leah and Daniella. Since I had done the vision mixing before I knew how it worked so I was again the vision mixer where I would switch between all the different angles, as well as put up the intro, outro and adverts during the show live. Sam's job was to research all the questions for the game show and then write up the script for it, he was then also the host on the game show as he knew all the questions and answers off the back of his hand, he even created this whole game show from scratch so he also knew how it all worked properly. Daniella was sound mixing and prop master. Leah was in lighting and was also another contestant. Freddie was back stage behind on the cameras and positioning them in the right places as well as doing all the maths for the questions where he would then show Sam how much each contestant had won in the game show. We then managed to get Billy from another group who was also happy to be in the game show where he was then the other contestant against Leah. We only did two full rehearsals of the Game Show which went pretty well and they are both linked below to YouTube.

Cash Grab Final Show
This was the final recording that we did for the Game Show. Overall I think it went really well considering we hadn't had many rehearsals and time with the equipment.
Because of the rolls that we all had in our group from the rehearsals, we all did the same rolls where I was vision mixer again. I also then edited the game show so in post production, I used EQ's and De-Noise to take out a really high-pitched noise that was present but not now due to those effects being applied. You can see the screenshots of those below.

Cash Grab Advert
1st Draft
2nd Draft
Final Draft
For my advert I wanted to sell off a product that I really liked, which was these Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones. I had planned out the advert in advance so I knew what shots to get and when they should be put in.
The reason why I wanted to make an ad on the Sony's, is not just because I like them, but if I was to make an ad like I did, I would only do it on a product that I really believe in and not just make one on the first thing I look at in my bedroom.
With the first draft, all I had done at that point after pre production was shoot and edit the main parts that were all A-Roll of my friend Max showcasing the headphones, I hadn't shot the B-Roll of the headphones in a studio environment yet as well as not putting the text on.
In the second draft, I had then put in the B-Roll of the headphones. I managed to get the shot by using a greenscreen along with three separate lights to get the end result of the end clip in the advert.
The final and last draft had the changes and addition of the text that is seen throughout the advert which is big and bold like the headphones themselves and because its eye catching to the audience and gains their attention.
This is the timeline for the advert. I had used multiple audio effects like EQ's and De-Noisers, then on top of that the graphics like the text and then the keying for the green screen which you can see below.
Since I started to make YouTube videos again recently, I made a video on the behind the scenes of the ad which you can access using the link below.

Logo Design
As for the logo, I did this myself quite early on in the production to get it out of the way so we could focus on more important things later on. I used photoshop along with illustrator on an iPad with an Apple Pencil and drew up this logo for our game show. I then made an animation which was then the intro for the game show which uses this logo. Freddie then made the outro using the same image. The logo was also used as a transition between the main game show and ad breaks. Doing this is normal with game shows so it isn't just a straight cut from the game show to the ad break. Sam also included the logo in his advert as his advert was the main sponser for the game show, being an online gambling site called cashroyale.com.
